My Father's 356 - Do you know of it?
I'm looking for my father's old 356, I believe it was a "C", from late 64/early 65.
It was purchased at Vasek Polak new by my father in black; he dented it in 66 or so @ the Long Beach traffic circle; the orig CA plate was NJM 118; This plate hasn't been registered in quite some time so the DMV doesn't have the info. I have no info on this car other than what I just said...help!!! Jeff |

Jeff,
Since you know the plate number can DMV find the VIN? Do you have any old registrations for the car, they will have the VIN. Who got all of the VP records? It may take some searching and a donation to the Foundation if the records still exist. How about the body shop? Any other shops? Did your dad have a bank loan? What was his insurance company? These are your first avenues. Once you know the VIN, everything gets much easier. You can search state DMVs, CarFax will work, you can have your local police check NCIC to see if it was ever stolen, the 356 Registry is attempting to collect info on every 356 and there are more. You might interview some professional search companies. That might be worth the money once you have done the basics and reached an impass. Best, Grady

The 356 registry keeps a list of known vehicles. Try them....
