While I'm there... (leak at heat exchanger)

I have a leak at the heat exchanger head joint. I am not sure what it is and I am going to get my wrench to tackle it (I am not able to deal with broken head studs).

If it turns out to be someting simple, what should I do while I'm in there?

I have an 85 Cab, 138,000 miles, new clutch at 80,000, no idea when valves were done, stock exhaust.

I was thinking of valve job to get a baseline and hoopefully just a new gasket on the HE.

Any other ideas or concerns?

Thanks
