Cigarette lighter for phone/Ipod charger
Has anyone experienced that everything you try to plug in to this power source is loose except the lighter?
Has anyone found a solution? Thanks.

I have the exact same problem. However, I bought one of those fancy after market connectors for my ipod that charges and takes the audio signal directly into my stereo and now all I use my cig lighter for is the radar detector which fits pretty good....not perfect.

Apparently this not just a problem with 911's. Both the charger/player for my Ipod and my Escort radar detector came with a plastic slip ring that fits over the end of the plug to take up the slop.

A lot of European cars have the larger-diamter lighter, and there are plastic sleeves available to adapt the plugs. In a pinch, some electrical tape wound around the non-contact parts of the plug will also do the trick.

I think I may have seen one of those long before O owned my 911. Wish I had it now. There's nothing cooler then having the working 20th century cig lighter powering the 21st century Ipod/FM broadcaster playing in my 1972 Blaupunk Frankfurt!!!
Now I just have to find that small p.o.s. ring!
