Beautiful... I wish my car was at that point where I just had to tie up a few loose ends.

"breaking the rear end in 3rd" That 7.31 ring/pinion must be a blast .

Does it exelerate that hard??

SalazarS2K 05-17-2006 06:41 AM

Beautiful car! Love the color and how the frosted wheels complement the green. I wish my trunk looked that clean. What muffler/header combo are you using back there? Also, size Lindseys and tires are you running front and rear?

Porsche Doc 05-17-2006 08:29 AM

Hey Man!
That looks really NICE!
You have done GREAT job. :D

Thanks Guys! Its been a long time since she has seen the road. I never planned on this project. It just happened.

Dean,
If I dont put the keys on my key ring I will forget at home. My garage is a half hour away from home now and it sucks to realize that I forgot my keys. You should see my glove box :D

Shuie,
I took the blower out because I cant get the fresh air SS pipe to fit between the muffler and engine case anymore. I mean that I had to recess or pitch the muffler foward so it would not rest on the fiberglass rear bumper. In doing that, I had no room for the pipe to fit. The B&B setup was meant for a Carrera rear bumper which has more room in the rear bumper. In doing that , the tail pipe was hitting the heat exchanger so I had to take a hammer to the back side of the tail pipe and pound it out a bit. I also moved the engine and trans 10MM foward to prevent the muffler from hitting the rear bumper. As far as heat, Ill have to address that later so for now I put a block off plate on the shroud.
As far as the wiring, I just followed the factory wiring along the front trunk and went down thru the factory hole into the car by the petals under the metal straps and thru the large round pipe dodat in the smugglers box. That was the power for the DME and I drilled a small holeover the fuel pump and added a groumat. I wire tied everthing and made sure that none of the wires would shafe. I donta want a fire. I also used that route to run a wire to fuse the fuel pump. I ran that wire to the #1 fuse which was empty. I forgot which one I used to power up the DME, but its all in the fuse box. If it doent make sense PM me.

I owe Tyson alot of beers. I always made sure he got fed gourmet meals while working on my car. Jack in the box and Pacifico beer.

Well, the tires are hard as a rock so I think thats why. She runs great cold but looses a bit of power when warm.

Its a full B&B setup that I got from the board. Everyone was asking about it but no one bought it. When I got it , it looked brand new. Tire setup is 245,17 X 275,17. It takes alot of massaging to get them to fit. between neg camber, spacers to get them right and rolling of fenders, and clearing of oil lines.

Thanks Doc! I love your cars too. You always seem to put the C2 RSR idea in my head.:D

My lust for that wheel/tire set-up gets more unbearable every time I see one. I had been attempting to justify the inevitable purchase based on performance - but now I just flat out admit I want it - call me a poser if you must.

Anyone care to run down in more detail what worked and what didn't (to make that combo fit) on the Carrera/RS/SC bodied cars?

Absolutely beautiful car.

Nice job Joe!

On the photoshop that is. You really worked your photoshop magic on that Sahara Beige 912E. It actually looks like a Viper Green 911!!!!

Seriously though, great pics. james is right, it looks just as good if not better in person once you see the details.

BTW, Joe doesn't owe me any beers. He's been a great friend, and we help each other out all the time.

Oh, and those tires were fine when I gave them to you, what, like 3 years ago???? LOL! Victoracers don't have a good shelf life.

Burn those up, and get yourself some Toyo RA-1's.

Jeremy Cottrell 05-17-2006 01:43 PM

Joe, you told me you sold the 912E to buy the............... Hey, wait a tick.................

The Chef 05-17-2006 01:50 PM

HAHAHAHA:) Very funny! Thanks for all the great cooments. It really helps boost the ego and the $$ I spent on it.

The Chef 05-17-2006 01:55 PM

Here is a quick video with me farting around the garage and reving it up. I really like the sound of the B&B system. Enjoy!
