Another RS project. Mine! Part7 DONE(mostly)

Well shes running now and on the street. Well not legally yet anyway. I finally figured out the wiring for the 3.2 conversion with all the post from other conversions and Tyson Schmidt. Its running just OK as I need to get the PVC or whatever you call it parts that attach to the oil cooler. She runs good cold but seems to have a little hesitation after she warms up. Thats just one of many little things that need to be addressed before I decided to make her a daily driver.
I also need to bring the Car to TRE and get it aligned and corner balanced. Steve Wong needs to burn a custom chip and I think that I need new tires. I have Tyson's old takeoffs and if you know how he drives then you know the condition of the tires. Hard as a rock and slippery as crap.
For the most part the car has surpassed my expectations but there are lots of little things I need to do to get it where I want it. Any, I thought Id share some gracious pics in hopes to inspire other guys that are doing the same thing. Dam my bank account hurts:)
I want to thank all the guys that have helped out in this project.

Some pics of the front trunk. As you can see I ran the DME wires in the 73 harness and wrapped it in new tape. I also fused the fuel pump to the factory fuse box using the #1 fuse. I had some crap metal so I made a bracket for my light wieght battery. I think that it a pretty clean install. What do you think
:D

Here is a shot of the engine compartment. Not bad for a chef. :D

Doesn't get any better than that, Joseph.

The Chef 05-16-2006 09:45 PM

Thanks Matt.

Heres a couple of interior shots. As you can tell the first attempt at upholstery 101 didn't pan out the way I expected. It seems that its starting to peel. I have some new material and will try to do it again.

My compliments to the chef!

It's really looking sharp. You've been working on this for what seems like forever, but I'm sure all the hard work seems worth it now.

You need to bring it out to the tribute this weekend.

The Chef 05-16-2006 10:02 PM

Thanks Chuck. It has been forever but then again for me it was always just a hobby. I have picked it up and put it down for months at a time.
I would love to come out but "Chef to the stars" needs to work this weekend.

The Chef 05-16-2006 10:11 PM

Thanks Jack. Very funny:D Yes I know, you can take her for a spin on track day. I promised.:) As long as you dont spin. You may with these tires. I was spinning tires in third when I got on it or is it the 7:31 RP.

Wow, very sweet Joseph. Look forward to seeing it in person on a Pelican run:) All your work in the "kitchen" has paid off:)

GREAT JOB! really, really nice!
I might be able to find the PCV connection that you are seeking. Email me through the board and I'll send you my phone #. If you can describe it, I think I may have it.

Thanks for the comment Doug. I need everthing from the valve to the parts to the oil tank. Let me know if you have them and what you would like for the parts. Thanks a lot :D

Looks GREAT.

I bet you could loose a few more lbs if you took some keys off that key chain:p

Shuie 05-17-2006 03:07 AM

Awesome! Just Awesome!

I see you got rid of the heater blower and the rear defroster relay but kept the relay panel in the rear. Do you have a summary of how you mapped the chassis wiring harness to the engine wiring harness?

mjshira 05-17-2006 04:17 AM

having had a chance to see this car in person I can tell you guys, the attention to detail that Joe put into her is simply off the chart. to have this car built would have cost a small fortune. Joe made it work. Tyson made a big contribution as he is well know for doing (I am sure Joe has a stack of IOU's that Tyson will collect on in the form of cold beer when he is in LA).

Great work Joe! This car really looks outstanding! Keep the pics coming, show them the suspension detail work you did.
