Jumping Tach

I have a 1970 911 2.0 idle runs good but when I hit high Rpm the tach jumps and breaks down any ideas??? Also the second fuse on fire wall keeps burning out I know I have a short but does this have anything to do with the tach.? Thanks Mark

May want to check the charging system, an over charging alt can cause these problems. Also check all the grounds you can find.

Search bouncing tach. Points and voltage regulator are the likely culprits.

Thumbs up

Isn't the tach. on a 70 mechanical (ie Cable drive)?
I would check to see if the inner cable is fraying and catching on the outer casing.
Good luck.
