I am trying to check VIN numbers for a carrera?? Ideas and where do I look??

Hi folks, I am offered two cars to make one. The first is an early car with straight lines and no rust. The second is what looks to be a carerra at first sight with wide hips and light weight hood and tail but has some rust. Here are my serial numbers, can someone tell me if these are real carerra numbers or not???

9114102400

9114300699 (Likely the carerra)

Can you tell me anything Pleeze???

Thanks, Mark

PS I will post pics of both cars soon or email me if you need some pics, but let me know if you have any interest in either of these cars with an offer??

I also need to know where the web site is for research for VIN numbers??

If you've got money to buy Porsches then you've got money to square up with me. When will I be seeing a check?

Neither of those is a Carrera, nor is either an "early" longhood car.

9114102400= 74 911 Coupe

9114300699= 74 911s Coupe

Someone is jerkin' your Gherkin.

The Red Book and others have the list of how to decode the number.

9114102400

911: Model
4: year (1974)
1: engine type, 1 = base 911
0: body style, 0 = Coupe (1 would be a Targa)
2400: Sequential serial number

So as long as that fourth digit is a 4, it wasn't originally a long hood.

PS Also how would I know what a carerra is in VIN number books?

Here's an online early 911 VIN decoder.

A 1974 Carrera's VIN would begin with the digits 91144...
