MFI pump rebuild parts/kit

Is their such a kit for MFI pumps? Anyone have any names, leads, info on who, where? I am desperate. This car has been down for a year,an MFI expert just told me their is no such thing as a good used MFI pump.Should I give up and find a set of carbs?

No such kit. All the original Bosch repair parts and tooling were sold to Koller in the '70s. Switching to carbs will lose you 10 horsepower and is a step backwards in performance and driveability, particularly when cold.

Using the search function, look for "Ultimate MFI Resources" and "Pacific Fuel Injection," all will be revealed. Despite the efforts of some very good DIYers here, the consensus of experienced opinion is that rebuilding and recalibrating the MFI pump is such a specialized task that it's best left to one of the four experts in the world to handle.

What is the problem with your pump anyway? 90% of the time the problem is NOT the MFI pump even though that's the first thing most people suspect.

I have given up trying to figure it out and gave the car to the head tech at the Porsche dealership. He said that now when first started it runs for an instant and shuts off. When I was dealing with it,the car pumped too much fuel and was getting into the oil.Anyone make house calls in the Pittsburgh area to get this poor thing on the road?

Trusting it to the Porsche dealership is a bad, bad idea. Dealers haven't been trained on MFI since the late 1970's. Fuel dilution in the oil is a common problem which can be addressed by following a procedure called Check Measure Adjust. Start here: Ultimate MFI resources thread
