Porsche Crest Is my Carrera to low?

I wonder if someone can give me an advice!

I am a relatively new 911 owner, i bought my 85 Carrera last fall.
During the winter i have fixed some small dents and repainted the car.
I have now been driving the car for about a week and think that the steering is a bit anxious when the road is bumpy!

I think that my car is low, i like the looks, but will the car handle better if the ride hight is a little bit higher?

Tommy

Pictures might help, or measure from the top of the fender to the ground and post back the results

Welcome ! Great to see yet another Swede on the forum! Just typical you have to live in the other end of the country. I am down south.

Good vintage year - 85.

Pics are good (mandatory ), but measurements are better. Fender lip to ground. Front and rear - both sides.

Is the car stock ? Whats the status of your shocks and tie rods ? Do you know if anyone before you has fiddled with the ride hight ? As you know its very easy to change it on our cars, especially up front.

What do you do when you try to upload a photo ?

I would prefer Euro Spec height...depending on what suspension mods you have made...handling may be affected at this height... I would think maybe a 1/2'' raise in the rear...beautiful car though

Height looks perfect. What are the measurements and tire sizes?

16", 205 front, 225 back with 7mm spacer.
Bilsteins front and back.
I dont really know about any other mod's done to the suspension earlier.

You may need to install a bumpsteer kit on the steering rack since you mentioned steering being anxious.

Looks good. Perhaps a tad lower than I prefer, but thats because I like the Paris-Dakar style .

Besides the extras (tail, front lip and Carrera strip) we seem to have identical cars. Very nice. I really like the strip and the color coded rims! Notice you have ditched the fog lights. Lovely. Whats the story with the 'CTR'- look of the outer mirror ?

Pretty soon we are enough Swedish Pelicans to have an annual meeting.

[/B][/QUOTE]

When i repainted the car i also welded the holes for the mirrrors and the roof antenna.

I really like the looks of the -74 3.0RS and i think this mirrors is more in the style of that, i might consider changing the front and back bumpers for the complete look later!
