Did you make your own car dolly? Wanna share your plans and pics?

Looking into car dollys for the garage but they're pretty expensive. Just wondering if anyone here has made their own and would like to share pics and plans. TIA.

I got mine at BJs price club. At $60 for the 4, I thought they were a BARGAIN, compared to what I would spend for 16 casters capable of the weight, plus the metal and not to even mention the time!!! I got two sets of 8. Love them...although use a power tool to assemble to save the time of attaching the casters with the 64 bolts!

I made my own. I needed enough for 4 cars and looked at the less expensive dollies at the usual suspects. They all have such small wheels it makes rolling cars around hard. I purchased some 4" casters from Northern that were rated at 250 pounds each so figured they would be good for a 1000 pound rated dolly and be nice and easy to move around. I bought a sheet of 3/4" plywood and cut into 16" squares (you will get 18) and also bought a few 2x4's. The 2x4's I ripped in half with a 45 degree cut. I screwed these around the perimeter of the plywood squares and mounted the casters to the bottom. The 45 degree cuts cradle the tire and keeps it centered. The total expenditure is around $13 per dolly. I think this compares to the cheaper dollies on the market but has the advantage of large rubber wheels instead of the metal ones. I can push any of my cars around the barn with just one hand. I'll take some pictures when I get home and post them tonight.

East Coast has all three of these warehouse stores. I think they all sell via the internet as well. $60 for 4 is a damned good proce.

They type I've been hold out for is the one where you can place the dolly around the wheel and crank a lever to make the dolly raise up and grab the tire. No jack needed.

Add:

Here it is @ $200-$275 each....yikes.
