Idiot Needs Help! (ER Mono Balls)

Well I got my pelican order a couple of weeks ago for my elephant racing bush's including my rear weather sealed mono ball cartridges. When I got them I proceeded to take them apart (removing the seals) to see what's inside once I was happy that theres nothing too interesting in there I packaged them back up and left them till now. As I'm now getting close to being able to fit these I tough its about time I familiarize myself with the installation instruction when I come across the line that reads "Do not swap the seals from side to side" I currently have one with seals one way round and the other with the seals on the opposite side and can't for the life of me work out which is correct! Help!

Steve

Steve

On the outside of the cartridge, you will see one end has a groove that accepts a retaining ring.

Note that one seal has a single-lip, the other seal a double-lip. The single-lip seal goes in the side with the external retaining ring groove.

Thanks Chuck!

Just goes to show it pays to read the instructions before you start messing

And having a direct line to the guy who designed them doesn't hurt either!
(That's a great thing about this "hobby"....our market is big enough to attract some serious efforts and quality engineers, but small enough that you can pick up the phone and actually talk to the man who designed the item you want or have, like Chuck and Hayden.)
