What is the color code on my car?

All,

The paint number on my 1977 911s is 516-9-1.
What is the color code?
Thanks in advance,

Alan, My '76 has the same paint code and Porsche called it BOTH Desert Beige and Sahara Beige at different times. There was also an earlier color called Champagne Yellow which is VERY, VERY close, almost identical. In fact (just my opinion) I think it IS identical and was renamed in the '70's when "earth tones" were all the rage so it would be considered an earth tone rather than yellow which had a sort of "flower power" connection to the then-recent '60's. Anyway, I have most often heard it called Sahara Beige.

Not sure why you're asking but if you don't know already, that color does NOT photograph accurately. It always looks a little dead. My car was terribly oxidized when I bought it last year. I couldn't really tell what color it was. I HATEd the name "beige" for my dream car but I am so happy I opted for a windows-out full respray including the door jambs and engine/trunk jams in the original color. Here's a couple picture of it. Same digital camera used for both and though it looks good (I think) it obviously looks very different from one picture to the other.

Are you repainting? Curious what you're doing. Only myself and 911STarga have this color as far as I know - now you too. Post pix.

Dan, thank you very much for the detailed answer.
I bought H4s headlights and right side mirror and would like to paint the rims on H4s and the mirror.
Unfortunately I was not able to find the color code or name of the color.
my car is the same color combination as yours. I’ll try to go with Sahara beige.
i will post pix before and after later.
Thanks again,
alan

Alan, Good luck with your project. I have to find a right side rectangular stainless mirror for mine. I'm sure I'll end up with a reproduction one. Since yours is a '77 you have flag mirrors. I (obviously) backdated my '76 from the flags to the '74-'75 stainless mirror when I did the fog light delete, Euro/'74 small bumperettes and the early metal grill.

Plus this is very odd for as rare as this color is suppose to be . This year at the 24 in daytona I happen to park next to an owner of a 516 code sc from louisiana named Chuck . My car is a 74.. I did see one at the hershey show last year ...didnt know who it was but we are still in rare air ..
