I usually set the alarm in my 87 cab when I park in a public place. Thing is, I can never get the key in quickly enough to avoid setting the darn thing off myself!
While not a huge deal, it does draw unwanted attention. Is there any way to increase the delay? Currently it goes off perhaps 2 seconds after I open the door.

Don't open the door all the way. I open the door just far enough to get the key in and never had a problem. If that doesn't work you could adjust the switch in the door jam that goes to the interior light so your door has to open further before it registers that the door is actually open.

Thanks Bill. In this digital age it didn't even occur to me to adjust the switch!
