Finally got the P-car where I feel it is presentable. Still working on a throttle that sticks at full-on but other than that ir's great to be back in the saddle after a 30 year absence from the Porsche scene.

"30 year absence from the Porsche scene" so either your last Porsche was a HotWheels or you are an old guy like me.

Red ,very nice. Throttle sticking? What have you tried? Cable? Obstruction at the floor?

Tom I did the unthinkable and purchased her from a dealer in January with very little documentation. I did have a complete PPI performed however. I've been very gentle with her since then while I went through the PPI list. I upgraded shocks, engine mounts, tie rods etc. I was finally sure I had found all the bugs so we went for a more agressive ride.
Thats when I had the throttle stick. It only occurs at full throttle and only when I am pushing her hard. I checked for pedal obstructions and found none. I am checking cable issues this weekend. I have not gone into the pedal box. Any thoughts on now to de-bug the issue? And yes Jim i'm an old guy! Had a '73 914 I showed and autocrossed back in Ohio before a career and family. Time now to pick up where I left off. Thanks for all the kind words.

I think you should start by looking at the throttle bell-crank which is on teh side of the gearbox. the bushes on these often clog up with crud over the years and make things a little sticky - stuck WOT is not a good thing!
I got mine working better by just spraying some lube on it then working it free for a bit - I re-greased it properly last time I had the engine out.

Nice catch on the exhaust. It's a Bursch. Came on the car. Sounds great but I'm not sure it will stay. Any thoughts on alternatives?

I'll second the M&K exhaust. I have no first hand knowledge of the Bursch though. If you like it, I say keep it. Any pics from the rear? I think it looks nice from that angle.

Gorgeous ! Guards red is still THE Porsche color. It combines the images of elegance and 'in your face'.
