SEV Marchal

Hi

Can anybody tell me where I can get replacement brushes for my 1973 Marchal 55amp alternator?

Its behind the brown plate with the two screws.

I'd like to hear from anyone who has found parts for this alternator because the local rebuild shop told me these parts are NLA and my only option was a bosch unit.

I am pretty sure I have a brand new set of brushes sitting in the garage for these alternators.

Are you sure that these won't work?

or this:

from our host.

I have the same red-plate alternator, except MOTOROLA. Same thing, AFAIK.

Yep...Motorola and Marchal seem to be pretty much the same. For brushes, you might ask here.

I called Pelican this week to get the brushes and they can't get them anymore. My 76 Marchal looks like it takes the same brushes, but I can't find replacements.

Mine have a funny failure where one of the soder joints is bad. I would fix the soder, but I am not sure if the brushes have much life left in them. Hate to have to mess with this alternator again.
