Thumbs up suspension makeover complete-wow

I just picked up my car from the shop where it's been getting the suspension makeover. I had 22mm front and 30mm rear solid torsion bars installed, turbo tie rod ends, balljoints, poly graphite front bushings with Elephant rear polybronze bushings. The car was lowered to 24 1/2 front and 24 3/4 rear and then corner balanced and then alignment. I only drove it about 15 miles but WOW what a difference it handles fantastic and the ride comfort is the same or better than before. My mechanic said all the bushings fit perfect there was no custom sanding needed. The front bushings I purchased had been modified by the person I bought them from to have grooves in them and then zerk fittings so they can be greased and ofcourse the rear polybronze have zerks also. With my 225/45x17 fronts the fender lips were rolled as there was some rub but no rubbing now. I had previously added 22mm front and 21mm rear Carrera sway bars so I am done for suspension mods. My next autocross is June 3rd I can't wait!!! Well that's it for now I have to find some twisties

Tom my mechanic said they fit perfect, he's been working on Porsches for about 15 years and said they were the best he's installed. I am very happy with the results.

bigchillcar I saved my money and purchased parts as I could or as they became available. I watched for sales or clean used parts ( front bushings, front +rear sway bars ) and just slowly gathered everything needed. I toyed with the idea of doing the work myself but decided to hand over all the parts to my mechanic and have him do it. I left the car for a week and told him to work around my car meaning if someone came in with work that was high priority then stop on mine and work on theirs. I believe being flexible like this helps both parties and may have saved me some money. I am fortunate I have a great mechanic that I trust completely and he's never done me wrong.

cool..that's the way to do it alright. exact same thing i'd do..collect parts over time and hand it over to someone who does this particular job for a living. there's an awful lot i do on my own car, but i think there's probably an art to 'dialing in' a suspension..

I dropped the car off last Friday and I picked it up yesterday. As far as the suspension stuff I collected/purchased over about 6 to 8 months and then pulled the trigger.
