Help explaining this one...

I did a search and could not find anything to compare this to....I have had my Targa for going on 3 years, and have never noticed this before (I am wayyy obervant) but I noticed today that when looking at the car from the front, dead on, the front right side of the car looks a slight bit lower than the left front of the car...it is strange! The front right, from the wheel well forward of the car is slightly dipping-closer to the ground? The car runs straight as an arrow, brakes straight, etc. What could cause this? Could the shock or strut be going? Would a corner balance correct this?...I am kind of freaking on this one...thanks!

Try measuring the height from the floor to the bottom of the fender at each front wheel to see if there is a difference. If there is, then there is an adjustment screw. It is difficult to describe where it is. If you have a Bentley's 911sc manual it can show you.

If you know this already, I apologize. But I will try to describe it. If you look under the car around the front wheel, you will see the shock/strut. At the bottom of this it is connected to the a-arm/control arm. Follow the control arm to the center of the car, and it is connected to the aluminum crossmember. The a-arm contains the torsion bar which springs the car. The torsion bar protrudes through the back of the crossmember, and it is capped with a big steel cap, about 2 inches diameter. Right next to this cap there is an adjustment screw which points straight up. When you tighten or loosen the screw, it affects the torsion bar cap, and thus the amount of torsion bar spring. You can tighten or loosen it with a socket wrench.

You would have to decide if you are going to raise one side, or lower the other. And it will affect the corner balance and alignment, so you might bring it in to the shop if you are not happy with the way it drives afterwards.

I hope this helps.

here's a pic from another thread showing the front ride height adjustmet bolt. It takes an 11mm socket to adjust it from the bottom. That being said, if the tub is not twisted then it could have been corner balance in the past with the left side made slightly lower to compensate for added weight on that corner due to battery/driver weight. If its handling fine I wouldn;t worry about it. My car is slightly lower on the left front as well.
