964 eng/ G50 will not separate

I can’t get the transmission to let go of the engine. All the bolt are out, the starter is off, the hydraulic clutch is off, I can get it back ¼ to ½ of an inch but that’s it. I’ve been wiggling, pulling, prybaring, what’s the trick??? Clutch is a not duel mass.

You need to remove the shaft that joins the release clutch arm to the trans. Once you removed this shaft it should seperate.

It has one bolt on the right side that holds the bracket so unbolt it and try to get the bracket out of the inspection hole? or just unbolting it will work?

The bracket bolts to both the case and the shaft with 2 seperate bolts.

Remove both bolts then put a longer M4 or M6 bolt or slide hammer in the threaded bolt hole in the shaft and give it a good pull.

Carfull not to break the ears off your case(seach on this), I ended up soaking soaking the shaft with penetrating oil by squirting it into every hole I could find. After a week or trying to yank it out without breaking the ears off I thought it might help if I gave it a tap INWARDS, this immediatley broke the seal and it slid right out.

Suggest you do the cross shaft polybronze update if your current shaft looks pitted from the roller bearings when you remove it. The polybronze update works with both original cases and also cases that have been drilled for the factory update(not as good)

Hope this helps
