I read about a guy named Jack Olsen in Excellence magazine not too long ago -- does anybody have any pictures of his car, which was named Black Beauty 2 ("BBII," for short)?

I just bought this 911 and now my wife is pissed...

Typical Fish 05-03-2004 03:32 PM

Anybody heard of a book called "101 Projects"?

pbs911 05-03-2004 04:38 PM

I always wondered what's involved with those gratitous pics. . . who do you guys actually get to get out the car, climb a big rock and wait for you to turn around and drive back by?

Schrup 05-03-2004 05:29 PM

Anybody know a good mechanic in the Seattle area?

Dan Morton 05-03-2004 05:37 PM

Photoshop please

I just scored this on ebay for a song! The owner had no idea what he had. Can someone please photoshop the door ding out and backdate to a longhood with flares, ducktail, and a set of 17" fuchs. Also need to see pics in blue, green, and red.

I heard from someone that he lurks on this board but hates posting pictures of his car. Guess he's the modest type. :D

Should I install relays for my new 130W H4 conversion?

I do not apologize for the amount of space in this post I intend to devote to telling you about Pelican Parts BBS. Let's review the errors in Pelican Parts BBS's statements in order. First, Pelican Parts BBS has vanity without pride, voluptuousness without taste, and learning without wisdom. Pelican Parts BBS's reason is not true reason. It does not seek the truth, but only repressive answers, mean-spirited resolutions to conflicts. I am confident that dishonest, blinkered scamps will come to their own conclusions about all of these matters. Why do I tell you this? Because these days, no one else has the guts to.

This raises the question: Whatever happened to good sportsmanship? Before you answer, let me point out that the picture I am presenting need not be confined to Pelican Parts BBS's values. It applies to everything it says and does. Pelican Parts BBS has -- not once, but several times -- been able to cause the destruction of human ambition and joy without anyone stopping it. How long can that go on? As long as its slaphappy zingers are kept on life support. That's why we have to pull the plug on them and deal with the relevant facts. There is something patently unpatriotic in the notion that Pelican Parts BBS is always being misrepresented and/or persecuted. More than that, morally crippled prima donnas (like Pelican Parts BBS) are not born -- they are excreted. However unsavory that metaphor may be, Pelican Parts BBS seeks scapegoats for its own shortcomings by blaming the easiest target it can find, that is, prodigal, unsophisticated oafs. I think we can certainly say that the first response to this from Pelican Parts BBS's assistants is perhaps that the Eleventh Commandment is, "Thou shalt destroy our sense of safety in the places we ordinarily imagine we can flee to". Wrong. Just glance at the facts: Myopic roustabouts are more susceptible to Pelican Parts BBS's brainwashing tactics than are any other group. Like water, their minds take the form of whatever receptacle it puts them in. They then lose all recollection that Pelican Parts BBS has lost sight of the lessons of history. An equal but opposite observation is that ribald curmudgeons can't even agree among themselves as to how unsympathetic Pelican Parts BBS is. That conclusion is not based on some sort of nutty philosophy or on Pelican Parts BBS-style mental masturbation, but on widely known and proven principles of science. These principles explain that it is in Pelican Parts BBS's nature to be a deceiver and a destroyer and a bloodsucker. But you knew that already. So let me add that if, five years ago, I had described an organization like Pelican Parts BBS to you and told you that in five years, it'd shackle us with the chains of interventionism, you'd have thought me ghastly. You'd have laughed at me and told me it couldn't happen. So it is useful now to note that, first, it has happened and, second, to try to understand how it happened and how when I was a child, my clergyman told me, "Pelican Parts BBS's teachings are somewhere between a scam and a sham." If you think about it, you'll see his point.

This raises another important point: Every time Pelican Parts BBS tells its janissaries that going through the motions of working is the same as working, their eyes roll into the backs of their heads as they become mindless receptacles of unsubstantiated information, which they accept without question. Pelican Parts BBS's expositions manifest themselves in two phases. Phase one: contravene decency. Phase two: limit the terms of debate by declaring certain subjects beyond discussion. Finally, any mistakes in this post are strictly my fault. But if you find any factual error or have more updated information on the subject of Pelican Parts BBS, Pelican Parts BBS-inspired versions of clericalism, etc., please tell me, so I can write an even stronger letter next time.

It's back...

Yes, I am the one who likes to jump out of the car, and run to a great photo spot and have my husband drive by.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1083640441.jpg

No, Honey, drive by again, but not over the white line please.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1083640529.jpg

And drive by again! Where did that car come from? Can you do it again, Honey? Thanks

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1083640594.jpg

:) Great Pic. Let's post that one on Pelican. Now let's go drive thru the Giant Sequoias and let me jump out and get a picture!

cantdrv55 05-03-2004 07:27 PM

Hey Lindy,

Is your car cassis red? Looks beautiful.

Lindy Kipp 05-03-2004 07:35 PM

Yes, it was cassis red, but it is the one that got away. We bought the granite green cab instead. We bought it in California, and made a vacation out of the drive back to Tennessee.

89turbocabmike 05-03-2004 08:27 PM

Do those strut bar things work? Which one should I get?(duck) :)

I can't get my windshield out. I've heard that driving backwards at a high rate of speed will pop it out. Is this true?
There's a guy who posts once in a great while...Jack something, you might ask him.:D
