pyrometer location

Anyone out there have any advice on where I should weld the fitting for a pyrometer probe, ( where it will read the temp.) , on my 1988 911 Turbo coupe? It has after- market headers and K-27, and straight thru muffler , (no cat.)..... It is just a single probe unit, so no individual cylinder readings. I am really not trying to "tune" with the thing , more like, just "another cool looking gauge" , but don't know where to place the probe., (ie) before or after the turbo., thanks.........for any input on the subject
