MSD 6AL Power Cable connection
I'm installing MSD 6AL (6425) in my 1979 911SC. I saw an old thread where someone wired the power cable to one of the 3 fuses located at the back left of the engine compartment. To save running wire to starter or battery. Has anyone else done this and if so which fuse & side did you use? Attached is a picture of my set up so far with the 3 fuses shown by yellow arrow.
Thanks Team! |

Those are the fuses for the rear window defogger, etc.
Best practice is to run clean battery, which means the starter. Also wise to use a section of fusible link down at the starter end of the cable. -C

Don't do it, current draw is too high for the wire coming from the alternator through your engine harness feeding the rear 3 fuse panel.
