opening front vent windows ??

Greetings all, I have done some searches, but have not come up with a definitive answer. Is it possible to swap in opening front vent windows into an '85 coupe. I removed the non-operating A/C, and think the addition of opening vent windows would be great in addition to the sunroof and side windows. Is this possible, and how hard to do it? I have heard that you can install the rear push-out windows into a coupe, but I am more interested in the fronts. Thanks for any advice.....

I think all you would need to do is find a pair of early frames, '65 to '68. They should bolt right up in the door. Of course you '85 has blacked out trim so you would have to do that too.

They were on Targas at least through 73. AAnd I've seen threads for backdating Targas to the earlier frams - but it sounds like you have a coupe.

Yet Another Boring Hot Rod Rgruppe Car - Part V, Exterior & Paint

- there is a pic of the parts involved towards the end of the thread -- no idea as to whether it can be done on an '85, but I see no reason why not.

you may have to do your own experiment...

Thanks for the replies... so I need the entire window frame from the looks of it. It appears the Targa cars are the easy ones to change out..nuts...

wierd, I saw Zak drive past in his truck just a few minutes ago... hope he doesn't have your money

yes, you need the entire frame and all the trimmings...

There are 2 types of frames - Al or chromed brass - I think I posted the adv's & disadv's on that thread above - if not post here and I'll work something up

If you're interested I might be interested in trading my frames for yours. Mine are currently on a '66 coupe and need new seals. I have two newer windows for it that I haven't installed yet. I broke one over a year ago and temporarily replaced it with acrylic, then I got the other windows and haven't installed them. My car was "updated" by the PO so the frames are painted black, email offline if you're interested.

so what exactly is the story with zak? apparently there is quite a long list of people that he has diddled. from reading here and on rennlist i have heard that he owes many people much stuff and or money. i paypalled him for my stuff and to this date have yet to be satisfied or repaid. i would really like to have that opening vent. thus far this is my only beating incurred on the ebay. if i were closer to the left coast i would check with zak in person to see why he has not taken care of this.any information as to his lack of motivation would be appreciated. any friends of his have any words of encouragement for me, or perhaps words of motivation for him. thanks,
