speed sensor

I need some help while putting on the stock ignition box i found extra wires hidden under mounting brcket so tried to look them up in the hayes book but to no avail, the car runs fine but do the 2 plugs need to be rehooked up? one plug end is the same as a relay end and the other is the same as the voltage regulator plug ? question porsche put these on the car for a reason right?
