Running poorly

I have a 1984 Carrera. It cuts out at about 5000 rpm. I took it to my local Porsche mechanic, and they
performed numerous tests but still did not find the problem. The tests included swapping out parts out
of a 1986 Carrera, which was running fine. They swapped out the computer, distributor, relays, fuel pump,
and checked the catalytic converter. None of this fixed the problem. The car just had it's 60k service, as
well as new plug wires and coil. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

Thank you

DD

Hmm, you will have to give me some more info other than that. Can you describe what you mean by cutting out? It may be a simple fix, or it may be something more drastic. Has anything been done to the car recently? 60K is not a lot of miles for that car.

Please let me know.

Thanks,

Wayne

I had a similar experience two times now on a 76 K-jet engine. It turned out to be the fuel pressure.
The first time, it was a bent fuel line. The car shut down at about 4500 rpm, and (funny thing)the engine STOPPED on hard left turns (should be not political, eh?).

Second time it was the fuel pump. It was a new spare part, but had these problems. Two weeks later, it stopped working and had to be replaced again. But you have checked this, dont you.

Please give me a reply idf you have fixed the problem. Good Luck!
