Mechanical Injection
I have 1 1971 914-6 with a 1971 911E 2.2 motor with mechanical fuel injection. The car is very hard to start and barely idles when cold. After the car warms up, it runs great. What was used on mechanical fuel injection to help in cold starts?

I have a 73 RS Motor with mechanical injection. Do you have the cold start button on your dash which bypasses the injection pump? This dispenses a burst of fuel into the injectors when there isn't sufficient pressure generated from the starter motor action. Also, the hand throttle sort of acts as a fast idle cam since we have no computers or chokes to keep our cold engines running.
Hope this helps. Mason |

No I don't have such a button. Remember this is not a 911. This sounds like a good idea but I don't have such.
