non turbo 911, engine case engraved 930.
my engine is a non turbo 88 911. Over the weekends, a friend of mine pointed to me the engine number on the crank case while my car was on the lift. The number is started with 930.xxx.xxx. He said this is a 930 crank case. I am confused. Isn't it only turbo 911 (930) has the engine number start with 930.xxx.xx...?

I don't have my red book in front of me to see what engine number you should have, but a 911 engine part number starting with 930 sounds right. I doubt it's a 911 turbo (930) engine.

Carrera has the same case as Turbo. SC has not. Both Case serial numers start with 930.
Just beacuse case number starts with 930 doesn't automatically mean that part is a turbo part. SC case has numer 930 101 915 00, 930 101 917 00 etc. 930 case has numer 930 101 916 00, 930 101 918 00 etc. It's just numbers.
