Oops, I said I'd post some pics of the AIM unit, and forgot.
So, here are a couple. I included one of the whole cockpit for scale. (Red light on right is the low oil waring light. ![]() ![]()

Apex - very nice. My thought would be to take out the whole dashboard and install just the RacePak to save weight. Did you consider that?

yea, but it's only 3 or so pounds, and I was underweight to my SCCA ITA min. weight anyway. Plus, having a fuel guage and a voltmeter during a race, plus the stock tach and buzzer as a backup are neat features.
Also, the data download plug is located along the left side, so wasy access is important, since the laptop gets plugged in every session.

Oh yeah, I forgot - that's the Mazda, not the 911. I was wondering why the center console looked so strange...
So, is it the 911 or RX-7 dash that weighs about 3 pounds? Or both? How much was the RacePak?

The dash was $695. I added V net for oil temp/pressure...after tax and shipping it added about $400. The G2 was 950. Problem was I was already balls deep w/ the G2. If I were to redo it...I'd do the Aim Race pro for a couple hundred more, have 1 screen that tells it all.

yup, that seems right for a full up AIM MXL system. ($1800 or so)
My 3 pounds was for the guts of the Mazda dash. 911 guages add up to a bit more, I'd imagine.

You guys that have a Racepak...... I read the thread and the website but am now confused (big surprise). Can the Racepak read the speed sensor on the transmission to provide you with a speed readout? or does it require purchasing an extra sensor?
Thanks

It CAN read either hall effect or sine wave. Since I have neither mounted on my track car tranny, I'd need to get the front wheel sensor...not practical w/ 3 sets of wheels.
