Periodic problem with dash warning lights

My 1989 C4 has a frequent problem with the erroneous display of dash "idiot lights". It is sometimes selective to the anti-lock brakes and the drive train lights, but, more commonly, it displays ALL lights as if all systems are in peril. If I turn the keyswitch off, it re-sets, and it is just a function of brief time before it surfaces, once again. Pretty aggravating, as you might understand.

My local repair guy is "over his head", so I am hoping to get some suggestions as to how this might be remedied.

I ran this question on this board about 2 weeks, ago, and had 36 views, but no input. I am giving it a go, one more time, in hopes of some insight, here.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.
