maybe bad connection. Some corrosion, may need contact cleaner. Also, looked at the wiring again and found 2 wires switched.

Does anyone have the window switch wire connection diagram for using the old style Bosch chrome bezel 4 contact window switches?

Looks like I corrected the wiring. Had 2 wires switched on the passenger side. The fuse is blown.
Would be great if someone could double check my wiring before I replace the fuse. Not real sure, can’t see real well. |
Fixed. Replaced the fuse and windows work. Cleaning the contacts before the panels go back in.

Got my "86 911 Targa back after having some other works done to find that the window on the drivers side stopped working.
To be fair the glass had popped out and was down in the door so I should have been more sceptical After pulling the mechanism checking the motor , which worked, and putting it all back together it still refused to work as it should. It was very odd. after a few hours troubleshooting it turned out to be that when the car was in the shop they crossed the 4 and 5 wires to the switch. The pictures and diagrams on this thread were perfect to find that problem |

There are 2 red and blue wires at the top of the switch and two red and blue wires at tbe bottom. Does it matter if the positions get mixed up, because they're the same colours? |
Pull the switch out, twist it around and re-install. I don't believe there is a top or bottom on these.

Is this incorrect. When I press up my window goes down, but I could have sworn when I pulled out the switch the unused terminal was on the bottom. |
