Best stuff to clean oxidation on Weber bodies?
I have a little bit of what looks like oxidation inside the float bowls of the 40 IDS carbs I (eventually) got from Omar/Hydra. Having fixed the broken valve, accelerator pump and bent idle airs, I'm moving on to the mild oxidation in the bowls. It's so slight I don't want to hot tank the carb bodies.
Has anyone used an acidic or alkaline treatment of any kind to wipe these deposits away? I'm looking for something that won't abrade the surface -- just clean it.

Those carbs are relatively delicate as compared to better materials.. or should I say PMOs. Hot tanks are aggressive if this is what you mean?
Personally I'd just clean the bowls with some strong thinner like toluene. Even hardware store thinner is good enough imo.
