confuse about insurance claim

I need some help guys.

Banged up the lower front valance, fogs, and the condensor. bent the suspen. a little bit. If it is cheap enough, I am thinking about paying for it myself. If I claim insurance, will the next insurance co. take me. I am thinking about one of those classic car insurance guys. I put on less then 3-5k miles a year. Well, this year 500 miles if I am lucky. I am paying 2000 bucks plus with All State. Thanks,

Jeff

Lose allstate asap (after they pay for your current claim). I am paying $285 a year through Sneed with unlimited mileage. You just have to show that you are driving a later model car for a daily driver and submit photos of all sides of your 911 plus interior of the car.

I agree, get rid of Allstate. In my opinion their sole reason for existence is to have their “Good Hands” in your pocket as deep as possible.

For low annual mileage Porsches there are some great deals.

For normal use I prefer a “mutual” insurance company. They are sorta like a CoOp and the policy holders (not stockholders) get the benefit. How many here get a REI “dividend?”

Regardless, have high deductibles and self-insure even close. Your claims record follows you among insurance companies.

Best,
Grady

Right.

Maybe switch now tho if you pay out of pocket.

Get the book from Nolo Press re handling Insurance claims and read it carefully. they have good info on how ins. co.s work.

Amica seems to be one of the better ones.

State Farm was sued for fraud by a state's Attorney General recently. They also told claims reps. to lie to homeowners damaged by the disaster in Calif a few years ago.

Here is Nolo on-line: NOLO

Protecting Yourself When You Deal With Your Insurance Company.

Avoid unpleasant surprises when you make an insurance claim.

"Insurance companies go out of the way to advertise how fast, neighborly, generous, kind, understanding, patient, and friendly they are -- especially when they are trying to sell you one of their policies. It continues to be true for as long as you make your insurance premium payments on time without asking for anything in return. However, policyholders forced to present a large claim often learn there are limits to insurer congeniality.
Here are some survival tips that you may find useful in dealing with your insurer about a …."

GOOD STUFF!

Best,
Grady

Thanks for doing the research Grady -- it should be part of everyone's Emergency Preparedness Defense Kit.

Also, don't let the guv'mint herd you into a Convention Center...
