Oil Line: Repair or Buy new?

Hi all,

I have an 82' 911SC and the oil pipe that runs from the thermostat to the front oil cooler was flattened out when I hit a pot hole. To repair it, It would require cutting the pipe and welding a new piece in its place? Does anybody out there have experience doing this? Is it safe? or Should I just shell out the cash for a new pipe?
Please advise.

Your better off buying a new one probably around 120.00. I don't think you can repair a broken line after all its a Porsche. Musta been a helluva pothole!

The replacement line from Porsche is the safest way to go. There are places that make custom flex lines with the braided cover and they advertise in Pano and Excellence. If you haven't done this before, the connection on the thermostat can fail when you break the connector loose so use lots of caution.
