Porsche Crest 915 shifter block update

I have been messin' around with eliminating the lateral slop in my shifter. All bushings have been replaced including a new coupler.
The slop was traced to the rectangular block that the shift lever is mounted on. The pin had just made the hole elongated over the years.
I ordered a shifter block for the 84-86 Carrera. (The SC version is NLA.)
A Weltmeister short shift kit had already been installed with a modified by me shift lever.
I installed the new block tonight and it worked fantastic. Absolutely no lateral slop at the shifter.

I lost the short shift function but I like the feel so far.

Now, what I have discovered is if you just cut loose with some cash and buy the factory short shift kit you will be further ahead.

I was more interested in finding a low cost way to improve the feel of the shifter. Total cost was $34.00. The part was drop shipped from the factory so it was $20.00 just for shipping.
