DIY valve adjustment question...

I have read the tech article on doing the valve adjustment and it seems fairly straightforward and easy. I would like to know if there is any additional info needed when performing the adjustment on a 3.6 motor, specifically the 964 series. Any other parts that need to be removed for access or any other additional tips would be great.
