Refinishing Interior Dash Face

The previous owner of my 1970 911E painted the interior dash face red. I would like to get it back to the original black. Does anybody know if the original finish of the dash face was just a painted surface and if it is, what type of paint should I use to get the dash face back to original.

The answer is...... The original finish is a flat black and I can't imagine why anyone would want to paint over the original dash. At any rate, it's nice that you want to put it back to original and I would take it into a paint shop and see what they can do. If you are a daring person, you could mask off the dask and paint it yourself... not advised. Good luck with your dash face.
