Question Aftermarket Cylinders?

Does anyone know of or have firsthand experience with the quality of these cylinders? They're manufactured by QSC and are nikasil. This seems like a much lower cost alternative to Mahle cylinders.

Ebay item number: 8072304540

I can't offer you any firsthand (or even secondhand) experience. You've got to think twice about it though... If it were me, I'd be more inclined to look for a good used set...

I'm going to check with a friend of mine to see what price he can get new Mahle nikasil cylinders for as well.

those are sold by henry at supertec. if you look around at henry's posts just about any one would agree that if it's from supertec it is good. i'm sure that henry has put a lot of research into these and they are a good deal. before these were available i bought a used set of mahles. today i would buy a set of these from henry rather than the used set.

We sell them and not only sell them but use them.
They have had some QC problems that make it necessary to check them completely but when they are set up correctly they work great.
Keep in mind that not all dealers who sell them were involved in the development of these cylinders. We have been involved in the design, testing and improvement of this product. This is an expertise that can not be offered by many other sellers.

I have seen them for sell on Ebay but I can guarantee that the seller has little or no experience with this product.

Just like JE pistons, anyone can sell then but Supertec has been involved in the JE Porsche development for over 15 years. Back in the days when Snake was designing a product that left a little to be desired.

Beware of sellers who have little or no practical experience with the products they sell. Most of them are in for the profit, not in for the long run to develop a better product.

I recently read where someone was selling them but had no practical knowledge about them. What's that about.

I have the QSR's and JE pistons on my 3.4 as part of my Supertec rebuild. I have to say, so far everything is fine...1,000 miles and 1 DE weekend. No piston slap from the JE's, no smoke, lots of torque and happy engine sounds.

Here is a purrty picture so you can see the cylinders.
