won't cold start without giving it gas issues 87 Carrera

when ever the car is cold I cannot get it started without giving it gas. I then have to rev the car to about 2k for 30 seconds before slowly letting off and the car then catches the idle.

I have replaced

Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, DME relay, tested o2 sensor.

I also get terrible gas mileage about 15mpg on the highway.

Other than that the car runs like a champ at HPDE's

Any advice?

Does she Hunt, stall when cold as well and/or when you turn on the AC?

Your Air/Fuel Mixture may be too Rich, try leaning her out and feel/see the difference in performance and gas mileage ( No Parts, just adjustment)

ICV, she is supposed to idle high 1100-1200 RPMs when first start cold then idle down to 880RPMs within 30-45 seconds. If ICV hunts try to tap on it with a screw driver and see if it clears up. May need to remove and clean the internals of all the gunk then lightly lube ( No WD40, please). Check the OHMs and replace if needed.

Hope this helps,

Oh Yeah Welcome Aboard! Pics of your baby please

Have you tested the cylinder head temperature sensor?

Being a new porsche owner I am not sure where to adjust the air/fuel mix. Is it in the bentley manual? can you point me in the right direction. I am going to try the tests on the head temp sensor.

NO A/C.

I will try the air fuel mix. the idle does not hunt. It idles really low once it holds an idle. I have a spare head temp sensor I can swap in so I may try that too.
