Custom Interior Photos
I'm looking for inspiration to customize my interior. Show us what you've done to your street car and if it's complex, give us a run down of how you did it.
Thanks in advance.

I dont want to seem like the person with the lazy answer, but do a search. There are many threads of this nature.

You may not find too many custom interiors here.
What usually ends up happening is many of us either leave it just as it is because we want to keep it original or we start stripping it out because we turned into a track whore and have to make room for a roll bar/cage and lighten the car.

Yea, I saw the thread and thought, 'Hmmm wonder what we'll see'. Lots of "custom" interiors that are shown are often posted by someone who saw an ad and thought the interior was hideous, LOL.
The crowd here seems pretty conservative when it comes to "custom". Lots of seat swaps, and door panel swaps, the occasional console addition or mod, plus the bling guage faces, but true custom interiors are a fairly scarce commodity.

no pics handy but my "custom" is limited to new basketweave pattern on the dash facia, black suede on the dashtop, and houndstooth inserts on my sparcos.

very cool. I want to see it in person for sure! (My dash was a leather one from a turbo, and the leather has shrunk to 3/3 it's original size. Uuuugggly! I wish I still had the original, cracked in a zillion places dash...sigh...

also... let me add that altho conservative in many ways re the interior this crowd ranks pretty high on the steering wheel diversity index. I have 3 that I swap or rotate as I get tired of them.

Yeah it is funny how certain things in the interior seem apt to change to aftermarket i.e. steering wheel, shift knob, etc. but most people are minimalist in the other areas.
The seats usually are just swapped for sport or race seats. The door panels usually just go to rs panels. Most folks kinda balk at anything more than that unless the factory happened to do it, such as rear seat delete.

also search on shift knobs - I posted a pic of the 4 I rotate thru
just recalled ... at rennlist search for pics of Grant G's car under his name -- a really fabulous interior in light metal color & CF shows French design influence (car made by a Fr. Canadien) car was the subject of an Exl article

I installed black leather RS style door panels and then "RS" styled the rear compartment by replacing the vinyl with some that matched the grain and color of the door panels. I also updated to the "SC" style rear shelf so I could mount some decent sized speakers.
![]() I think it extends the Spartan, minimalist look of the "RS" panels very nicely. |
