Ok did a dyno run today and Got good AFR (11.2-11.5) I was unable to produce a WOT dyno pull at this facilty(friend shop) But could go to 300rwhp on his dyno and we surpassed that And also managed to smoke my clutch. I would guess 350hp right now but that could be a bit high. I will be do some revisions as you can see from my pictures. The top 2 in the pictures are early designs for 38mm WG the bottom one is my new one for my car with a 46mm WG. We will see. Anyhow all and all very good day. i learned allot about megasquirt.

Sounds like a lot of power.

The stock 30lbs/hr injectors are only good for about 300Hp. After that AFR will be leaning out. I'm somewhat surprised you got to 300Hp and still had 11.5 AFR.

How much boost were you running?

Do you know what the duty cycle of the injectors was at peak Hp? (or did you capture a datalog?).

Hmmm....

0.4 bar and 300Hp don't seem to add up.

Base SC is 180Hp. Assume you are at 210Hp with back dated exhaust and EFI in N/A mode. With 0.4bar boost and NO intercooler "THEORY" says you should be at about 260Hp. Either theory is wrong, or you are running much more boost that you think, or the dyno needs some calibrating, or .....

May want to ask the guy to calibrate the dyno before the next run.

Also capture a Datalog. Lot's of key information in there.

Could be as it is meant to simulate driving conditions only. We were mainly concerned with afr so that when I go to a place that specilizes in dyno numbers etc we are are safe and can pull good numbers.

Why is the data log so important once you have good AFR???

It was amazing to see how little you had to move things to get different afrs. I plan on bumping up to .4 bar and running bigger injectors for the next runhis time we are going to a dyno only shop but we have a better understanding of the megasquirt system so we know it will be running safe. Oh and the IC will be in there so who knows

Once you have good AFR everywhere your pretty much done.

Datalog has a history so you can review things. It will show things like how much room is left in your injectors at a at full boost level.

@ .4bar, there is no way you can make 300wrhp. your lucky to make 270rwhp.

No intercooler and no headers.

Without a dyno sheet, I think your full of it.

And I'm not talking about some crappy dyno shop either. You better take your car to NASA and have them scientifically PROVE your claims cuz if you don't we're gonna.......we're gonna......uh........hmmmm......well..... seeing as no one else has the balls to work on a kit for the rest of us I guess you just better prove it that's all!

WTF Yerman? Keep your poison to yerself.
There are alot of people that can build "a kit". Protomotive has been doing it for the past 6-7 years. There are other company's too.

I am not poisoning Ben.

Ok, I should change my sig.

I now have 998rwhp

hmmm well ben isn't the ultimate funded promotive....and his prices are WAY less then half.

they are also solution that do not require pulling the engine....

basically they are designed for the DIYer. which is wicked, expecially because they are for the DIYer with a budget.

his craftmanship is amazing, and he is helpful.

there will be a back order for his turbo kits...

and i'd love to see a dyno sheet.... but i sure don;t think he's making up the number...

cheers
Nick

Honestly, The only people who should be commenting are the people who own a turbo 911 of any sort, whether it is a conversion or not.

I have experience in this field and what I said, was and opinion of mine.

I have had over 30 dyno pulls in my 911, 4 days in a row, figuring why the hell in was run lean. Countless sleepless night's on what I can do to extract more hp, with out braking the bank.

9 blown afm's in the past 3 years( hint)
Started w/ 330rwhp@.5 bar and know I am at 498rwhp@16psi

looking for 600rwhp @22psi.

I know what kind of problems there are w/ having a turbocharged Porsche.

You become a super dIYer.

Tony I actually called your brother(frank) to get down to AMS but they were back logged for weeks so I called on a favor of a friends shop that has a chassis dyno for tuning cars but mostly just checking driveablity issues. If there data was wrong which it could be as they do not specialize in that type of thing. Our goal was to learn what we were doing and get good afrs.

You did say you got 330 rwhp on .5 bar. So how far am I off???? All theory On my behalf. Quite honestly You have never met me nor Have I met you so how can you judge me???? I think you are probably a nice guy So I just suck it up!!!!!! I wish you the best your car is quite impressive. I never have any hopes of being that wild with our kits. We just want a cheaper alternative to the 7-20,000 dollars slope that so many go to. I will call the shop back talk to them. My data could very well be wrong But how far off?????? All theory at this point. None the less It was very satisfiing to do this 99% myself and be able to reproduce it.

Best wishes

I had custom headers, intercooler, bigger turbo and .2 liters more.

The headers and intercooler are between 40-80 rwhp more.

You don't have Carrera heads, larger intake manifold.
The only benifit is that you have efi, which are roughly 10-30% gain, if you can tune.

What compression are you running? That is also a factor.

I can go on and on.

I want to see a dyno sheet.

It's good to have, so you can show your customers how much power you making.
