Good Start, Very POOR Idle

Hi Guys,

I need some help. Unfortunately, my 83'SC had to sit for about 3 weeks. Went to start it up this weekend, and it started right up, went to about 2000rpms, and then fell to about 500rpm, and idles very rough. I can slowly work the throttle, and get it back up to high RPMs but when I let off the throttle, it goes back to idling very rough around 500rpm. When I parked it a couple of weeks ago, it was running great. After I get it past 2000rpm, it accelerates great!

What do I need to check? What could it be?

Thanks

I woul d guess AAR it probably closes to fast that with the combanation of the WUR being the slitest bit out of adjustment then that woudl give you the problems you have.

I also forgot to mention that it will idle so low as to force both the battery and OXY sensor lights to illuminate. Also, I think I hear the pop valve popping.

I agree w/ mb911. You should search "mystery train" for his adjustment of the AAR and "WUR" for info on that device. You should also check your mixture and control pressures.
