left front wheel locks up

I have an 88 carrera cab. and under normal driving it pulls slightly to the left. under very hard breaking the left front wheel locks up well ahead of the rest. a recent complete break job was done including new rotors. where should I start looking for the cause.

Sounds as if a hung up piston in the caliper is the culprit.

If the calipers were overhauled, then the seal has to set in and this may be what is causing the sticking. If rotors and pads were done, it could be that one of the pads on the side that is pulling is sticking. When I put pads in, I make sure there are no sharp edges on the backing, add a little synthetic grease on the metal edges make sure they are free in their openings and after they are in I have someone apply the brakes and release them to make sure that the rotor will spin without a lot of drag. Finally some pads require bedding in or they won't work correctly. Did the pads you got, get bedded in if required? I guess if it was just after a brake overhaul, I would ask the shop to check things over as they should. Good luck.
