Long hood project
Back to work on my long hood project. Removed the turbo flares that were already installed on the car to replace with mid year fenders. After bondo removal, found I needed to change out rockers too.
Started laying out the fender operation tonight. Marked the trim areas on the tub. I need to keep the rear light opening from the earlier car, as the 75 brake light opening is a different stamping. ![]() ![]() Outer rockers will be changed too, pass side has a big welded cut in it. ![]() Drivers side will probably take a more traditional flare type cut. ![]() ![]() And a rocker ![]()

Started aligning the front fender and door to check the rocker parts. I'm using some fenders and doors from a 75 I have to work with. Not perfect, but straight.
![]() Door gap needs more space. ![]() Needs to be perfect before I secure the rocker. ![]()

Wow, Great detail John. I'm looking at a similar repair on my next project 71T and getting a look inside that sill makes me a little more comfortable with the idea of opening it up.

I have a love/hate relationship with this thread. Every time I look at it, I want to go find a rusty longhood to restore. It's a sickness...

Good work. What are the small round parts called that it looks like you are using to thickness align the two pieces of sheet metal on the rear fender? Where are those available from?
