Lowering worked great!

Hi all. I just wanted to post and say thanks to all of you who have lowered your cars and posted about it. I did a bunch of research here, read 101 and Haynes and came out very successful. No problems, once you are in there and understand how the suspension works and can be adjusted, it's a pretty straight forward adjustment. I came down an 1 1/2" in the rear and an 1" in the front. It finally has the correct "look." The PO had all the wheel opening measurments equal which didn't look right. Thanks again to all the other DIYer's here! Here's the finished product:

I agree! With the ride height adjustment tool..it makes life so so much easier.

Took me a few hours to do mine as well and was very happy with the outcome.

Congrats and nice VR6 Corrado.

Thanks for the comments, I'm not sure how much the handling has improved. I'm going to install a bump steer kit tomorrow and then get it aligned. I'll know more then.

Yasin, I was just down in C. Spgs. a couple of weeks ago with the Corrado at Dubs along the Rockies. I spent all winter refinishing it and installing all new suspension.

Great look. I like the color combination, and no spoiler!

Not to steal this post but my car looked like this before my mechanic added the steering rack spacer. Then the front ended up a lot higher than it was before he put it in. Car rides great, but I'm not happy with the look now. Mechanic said spacer shouldn't raise height. Here is an "after" picture. Note how front is higher than back.

Actually, it's a bit hard to see that in this picture. When I originally had the car lowered and alligned, the person who did that work told me that the steering rack spacer wouldn't fit. Is there anything I can do about it?

I attended the Dubs along the Rockies show, I was extremely impressed wow...I have NEVER seen so many turbo cars in one show.

Pitty we missed each other and it was cool to see some 911s there too.

Great stuff

The measurements are 24.25" rear and 24.75" front.

Yasin were you there with a car or as a spectator? I was autocrossing the Corrado both days.

Separated at birth? Mine's an '86 in Prussian Blue, sans rear spoiler too. This photo taken before losing the tint and changing to euro rear lenses. Still need to lower one of these days.
