Question front noise

I have noticed a front noise coming from my 1984 Targa when I back out my drive and apply the brakes. It seems to be noise related to the caliper or steering mechanism. It only happens when I change my direction of travel. Anyone have any ideas on a fix?

I am probably due for a caliper replacement, but have been putting off spending the bucks.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Is the noise a clack or clunk, Check and see if the brake calipers are tight, move the wheel back and forth, (wheel bearings) with your hands
