no instrument lights
Just finished installing my prototipo and replacing my turn signal switch. Everything seems to be working correctly except the dash/instrument lights. Two questions.......
1) There are two wire looms coming off turn signal switch. One has a keyed plug, so I know that is correct, but other has four loose wires with connectors. Where does the black one go? 2) In the steering column, I have several brown wires that were not connected when I removed the old wheel, and I don't know where/what they connect to. One comes off the turn signal switch and the other(two wires on a double connector) comes off the wiper switch. I assume they are grounds, but where do they go?

Can't answer directly but if the wires are stock...brown is indeed the German DIN convention for ground. Any chassis point should suffice unless there is a concern about the wheel being able to turn and maybe some sort of slip ring is used...I don't know the area ( specifically) you're talking about.
Sorry.. - Wil

Dug around behind the light switch and found a keyed plug that was off - plugged it back in and plugged the loose bliack wire into a double connector on the back of the switch along with a white wire with black stripe. Now all of the lights are working correctly except for the defrost panel, which I've never seen work.
Regarding the unconnected brown wires on the double plug from the wiper switch, how important is it to connect these? Everything, including wipers, seems to be working correctly.

Can you (at least) measure power at the wires that connect to the dome light?.... basic troubleshooting working the system backwards....
