Expert turbo conversion suggestions please!

I am stuck on what my next move should be. I have a line on one set of turbo front fenders to convert my 79SC into a turbo look body. The fenders are factory and the guy wants $2600 for both and it comes with the gas door and mechanicals. I do not know if I could purchase the front flares and have them mounted for the cost of the factory fronts so it may be cheaper to buy ready made. I know that the backs must be welded on and body worked to look correct, but I am thinking it will be cheaper to buy complete fronts and just have them mounted and painted. What do you think? Any suggestions

is this for both fenders. I see the steel fender flares for $250-$300 each so that would be $500-$600 for the materials. That is half of your number. Please give me some more info

2600 seems pretty high for used front turbo fenders. Heck i would sell my front fenders for that and buy some new flares and some used fenders and do it all again. I think for front turbo fenders in steel should go for about 12-1500 a set. If you decide on glass flares on steel fenders I know a guy in michigan that has a set really cheap that are ready for paint..

If your car is in great shape and has no rust, you might consider welding the extensions on the originals so you don't disturb the factory bond/seal by changing the entire fender assembly. The rears have to be welded anyway. Just a thought.
