Hi all,

Been lurking here for a while and thought it was time to come out of the closet (so to speak).

Had been an MG owner for years but last fall I decided to trade up and bought an 86 911 Targa.

It had a jaw-dropping 187k on it (that's the life of nearly two B-series motors!) but the PPI turned up decent compression (155-165 across all six) and cosmetically it was pretty good (see photos).

The engine had a further 'test' when a friend of mine (who has raced a 996 at Daytona) had it up to 150mph at an undisclosed location!

After I bought it I took it to TRE for the 12k and Dave and Jeremy said they'd been servicing it for years.

Are you guys doing the usual Mulholland run on Sunday at 2pm?

Best,

Craig

Nice car. 187K is nothing, not even broken in yet

Yes.

Welcome & beautiful car! If TRE has been taking care of it, you can trust it's been taken good care of. I have heard the '86 & '87 are some of the most desirable years. By the way, I was an Austin Healey guy back in the day. Made the mistake of putting a Corvette V8 in a '56 100-4.

Thumbs up

Dude:

Nice car and the color is fantastic! Welcome.

Just one question, why is the driver's seat lower than the passenger's seat in the picture? Snoozing while driving, huh?

Happy driving.
