upgading the brakes
I can buy a set of black brake calipers fro a 944S for $200. The brake look to be in great shape so I was wondering what opinions people have on ways to mount them. I know that the black calipers from the 944 have a different bolt distance than the brakes on my SC, but can the black brakes be machined to accept the SC hole pattern? Can the holes on the black brakes be plugged with aluminum rods and welded and then re-drilled or is there a better way to mount them. I know some people use adapters made from aluminum also.

This has been covered numerous times, the 944 calipers are essentilly the same as 964 calipers(one can be trnsformed into the other by swapping bleeds and feeds)
You can start here follow some of the links. After that try a search. Then if you still have questions, fire away ![]()
