Do these struts fit a 1971 911S ??

I'm in the market for a set of early S struts to replace the original hydropneumatic strut housings on my 1971 911E. I found a set available (see photo), but don't know enough about early struts to determine if this is what I'm looking for. My 911E has the aluminum S calipers (that I want to keep). I understand that the early S strut has 3.5" spacing. The spacing of the outer holes on the pictured strut is 3.5" (the inner set is 2" apart).

Are these struts that would have come on a 1971 911S??

Thank you for your help!

Those look to be a later Koni strut. There is no split in the ball joint mount which indicates a tapered pin instead of a pinch bolt.

They will fit your 71 with no problems but you may have to change ball joints.

and the brake calipers bolt to the outer 3.5" holes, looks like you are all set.

Hard to believe that any of those hydro-pneumatiuc struts are still around.

Thanks guys.
So as I understand it, I'll need to use different ball joints, but aside from that, I'm good to go? Are these the ball joints for the '72-'89 911s?

Bill, the previous owner did that conversion back in the day where they added torsion bars and used a kit that enabled regular struts to be used in the original Boge housings.

Yep, the good, safe ball joints ... I think Grady has a thing or two to say about your old struts & ball joints, too!

Good to go after you replace all the bushings, ball joints, install
Turbo tie rod ends, new Koni inserts and bump steer kit.
Its' what a good honest car deserves

Think how well it will corner on the way to my house next year
