Need mechanic near Laguna / Dana Point

Will be vacationing in the beach cities and have no time to get the car fully serviced in LA at usual spots.

Since I'm there for 1.5 weeks thought I'd drop it off one morning at a good local shop and pick it up a day later. Simple stuff really oil change, install new turn signal switch assembly, hood struts.

Looking for someone who knows 911s and is easy to work with.

If I felt really good about the guy might have him adjust valves.

Can anyone help with some recommendations or are all you guys in the OC doing yer own work ;-)

Many thanks.

Pete

Pete,
You might try Bill Brewster Automotive in San Clemente. I use him, great to work with, low key, and has years of 911 experience. Small family owned business and works exclusively on 911's. Phone (949) 366-2009.

I'll recommend Paul Kaas. He's a fellow Pelican and posts as Pkaaso. He has his own shop, his own '74, and works on Porsches. He's done some work on mine and does really good work. He's in Lake Forest, which is only 25 minutes from Dana Point.

Here's his website address. Tell him you're a Pelican and you're instantly family. Tell him Scott sent you.

As Scott says, Paul has a great reputation. Also, check with http://www.hergesheimer.com They handle my service and I've been nothing but pleased with them.

I have to chime in here and recommend Bill. Really good description of him Larry I have a 930 trans he went through and sold me for my 911 V8 conversion and gave me a good price/etc and had some nice cars in his shop he was fixing. Talked to him for probably close to 2hrs when I first met him and he has amazing history/experience with stock 911s all the way through 935 racers.

I had some work done on my 89 911 at Performance Haus, Porsche, it's at 34112 Coast Highway, Dana Point, the north end of town. I was happy with the work and the price. I haven't been to the other mentioned places yet so I can't compare.

Though my experience is limited, I'd recommend Poul Kaas as well. He'd go out of his way to help out a Pelicanite! Definitely worth checking him out.

Yup. Sure did.

I almost backed out and then Dawn kind of talked me back into it. I'm glad she did because the car is in beautiful shape and has really been babied all of it's life. The Hergesheimers did a PPI on it with me watching and learning. They mentioned that it was obvious that the car had been well taken care of. It is basically perfect. 40K miles. Full leather package. Factory Sport exhaust. Guards Red.

I love it. Do you work from home, Richard? If so, I'll stop by and show it to you.
